These tigers are uniquely Adapted to live in the mysterious landscape of the world’s largest mangrove forest.

The Sundarbans tiger drinks saline water is an expert long-distance swimmer, and hunts as well in tidal currents as it does on land!

The tiger is one of the main reasons tourists flock to the Sundarbans, where they travel on boats in hopes of getting a glimpse of the majestic cat.

The Bengal tiger’s hindlimbs are longer than its forelimbs. It propels itself on its long hindlimbs to leap over the tiny creeks that separate islands in the Sundarbans.

The mangrove forest is a challenge even for the Bengal tiger — with floods, marshy banks, shifting tides, or mangrove roots that stick out of the ground like spikes.
